Successful Paths (Su.Pa.)
Su.Pa. “Successful Paths, Supporting Human and Economic Capital European Union of Migrants” is a project co-financed by the European Union under the Thematic Programme of Cooperation with Third Countries in the areas of migration and asylum, an instrument contributing to the implementation of the migration policy of the EU, as defined in the Hague Programme. The Programme aims, among others, at managing the migration flows by involving greater cooperation with Third Countries in several fields, including the facilitation of remittances and the return of migrants. The underlying basic principle is the “co-development”, i.e. the acknowledgment that migrants are a developing factor for their Countries of origin and that partnerships with EU Third Countries need to be encouraged in order to broaden the positive impact of migration in both origin and destination territories.
Su.Pa.’s main objective is to support the human and economic value of Senegalese migrants by promoting effective tools to facilitate return paths and encouraging the economic development of the Kaolack Region, in Senegal. The project intends to strengthen the relationship between the Senegalese migrants and their own Country, to facilitate the access to credit, to assist projects of business start-up, and to favour public-private partnerships.
